Plain-language answers about what we store, what we don't, and why.

Last updated: July 17, 2026

The short version

We collect the minimum we need to run the service. Names you paste into the free Quick Picker never leave your browser. Participant lists you save into an event are stored so your draws work, and they are never sold or used for advertising.

Quick Picker: nothing is uploaded

The Quick Picker runs entirely on your device. The names you paste are not sent to our servers, not written to our logs, not included in analytics and never placed in URLs. If you close the tab, they are gone unless you downloaded them yourself.

What we collect for accounts

When you create an account we store:

  • Your name, email address and a hashed password.
  • Events you create, including their settings, prizes and draw history.
  • Participant data you explicitly import into an event (names, and optionally emails or reference codes).
  • Security records such as session data and audit logs of important actions on your events.

How participant data is used

Participant data you import is used solely to run your events: showing your participant list, computing eligibility and selecting winners. Public verification receipts show winner names only — never emails, reference codes or the full participant list.

Emails

We send transactional email only — account verification and password resets — through our email provider, Resend. We do not send marketing email and we do not email your participants.

Cookies

We use cookies for one purpose: keeping you signed in. There are no third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Data retention and deletion

Your data stays until you delete it. Deleting a draft event removes its participants and prizes. Events with official draws keep their draw records so published receipts stay verifiable. You can delete your account after confirming your password: we erase your personal data and strip every retained event, prize, participant and draw record of names, emails and other personal details, keeping only the anonymized cryptographic proof that lets published receipts stay verifiable.
